Employer Bulletin July 2023

This Bulletin is part of an on‐going series by Kraeber Law Office to provide helpful hints about developments in the law that could be relevant to your business.

DID YOU KNOW?

  1. Minimum Wage Increases

Some cities have a higher minimum wage than the rest of the state, and some of those are increasing on July 1st. Watch out if you have employees working in Alameda, Berkeley, Emeryville, or Fremont.

  1. Translation of Documentation

You may be running a risk if you have not translated your employee handbook and other on‐boarding documents for non‐English‐speaking employees.

  1. California Updated Phamphlets

The state is releasing some updated pamphlets required to be distributed to all employees, including state disability benefits pamphlet that should be given to new hires and employees taking a leave of absence for any reason that is covered (for example, for non‐work‐ related injuries).
